■■ REGIONAL PROGRAMME ON INDUSTRIAL AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN THE WESTERN BALKANS AND TURKEY

Combating crimes - October 2010

The conference took place within the framework of the EU's IPA regional program on industrial and intellectual property rights in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The program, which is implemented by the European Patent Office (EPO), provides assistance in the field of IPR in the region and, amongst other, supported the drafting of the newly adopted Albanian Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Strategy 2010 – 2015, which sets out the vision, the strategic objectives and policies in the IPR field for Albania.

The conference was opened by the Deputy Minister of European Integration, Edmond Hoxha, by the acting Head of the EU Delegation in Tirana, Luigi Brusa, and by the project Director of the IPA regional IIPR program, David Jelerčič.

The EPO and Albania - February 2011

The EPO started implementing the IPA national project "Developing the Industrial Property System in Albania" which is funded by the EU Delegation to Albania and which was developed following the country's IPR Enforcement Strategy 2010 to 2015. The strategy aims at further developing Albania's IP system and was adopted by the Albanian Parliament last year.
