Seeing her perform, Lee Hazelwood proclaimed her to be "better than
Nancy" Best known for her unique Theremin style, composer/musician Dorit Chrysler also has a prolific recording & performing career as a vocalist, producer and engineer. Living in NYC, she has collaborated & recorded with artists such as Gordon Raphael (Strokes), Elliot Sharp, Matt Johnson (The The), Foetus, Gibby Haynes & Electric Indigo. She is currently co-producing a documentary about the NY Theremin Society, which she has founded and will be playing Theremin on the next Cohen Brothers Movie. HORSTMANN _ WIEDMANN _ DANECK, a trio with the unusual instrumentation of two guitars and drums, have created an original soundscape in which musical roles are constantly being exchanged within the ensemble. The guitarists move back and forth between melodic lines, chordal accompaniment, bass lines, and improvised solos, and the drummer, rather than being misused as a mere metronome, is a full member of the ensemble, controlling the frequently-changing textures as much as the guitarists.
